[UW-GIS-L] Excel date-time

Does anyone know how to display Excel date/times in ArcMap as date and 
time?

I have an Excel spreadsheet that has position information and a date/time
column. When I create an XY shape file and bring it into ArcMap the labels
for each point show only the date and not the time. I tried first
formatting the date/time column in Excel as time (13:30:55) but then
when I create the shape file and bring it into ArcMap the labels are all
displayed as 12:00:00 AM. If I preview the .csv file that I used to
create the shape file I see the correct times.
