[UW-GIS-L] ArcGIS Server Installation

Hi Brian,

Our ArcGIS 9.3.1 is running on 32bit linux, but the ArcSDE 9.3.1 is on 64 bit linux and we haven't seen any problems.

The ESRI support matrix says that RHEL 5 x86_64 is supported for ArcGIS 9.3.1 - http://wikis.esri.com/wiki/display/ag93bsr/ArcGIS+Server+Supported+Platforms 

I'm surprised it didn't work. Did you escalate to ESRI support? I understand that the UW license allows that when necessary.

I will also add that we tried all of this RHEL 5 x86_64 and hit a dead 
end (brick wall).  So, I would only attempt installation on the 32 bit 
version of RedHat.   ... my 2 cents anyway.
