Curriculum Coordinators,
The University Curriculum Office Web site has been updated with a new
calendar of deadlines for curriculum applications for the 2002-2003
academic year: http://staff.washington.edu/uwcr/deadlines.html
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new deadlines.
Because the Time Schedule is now only online, the quarterly deadlines have
been extended slightly. However, because the new deadlines are so close to
the beginning of registration for a quarter, we will be evaluating more
strictly all requests for deadline extension. Any course change
application that comes in after the deadline /must/ be accompanied by the
appropriate memo, as detailed on the above Web page.
Don't forget that the deadlines listed above are for the application
arriving in the University Curriculum Office. All applications must first
go through your school/college curriculum committee, so please plan
accordingly.

"Communication has changed so rapidly in the past 20 years, it's almost
impossible to predict what might occur even in the next decade. E-mail
which now sends data hurtling across vast distances at the speed of light,
has replaced primitive forms of communication such as smoke signals, which
sent data hurtling across vast distances at the speed of light."

Curriculum coordinators,
If you have not already been contacted otherwise, all classes appearing on
the May agenda were approved by the University Curriculum Review
Subcommittee at its May 23 meeting. We have a few loose ends to tie up,
and then we'll post the official report. Remember, if you requested a
change for a quarter for which SLNs have already been assigned, you'll
need to contact the Time Schedule Office at times at u.washington.edu to get
the Time Schedule updated.
The deadline for the next meeting is June 3 (next Monday).
Finally, we have updated the forms at our Web site
(http://staff.washington.edu/uwcr/) and have included the new Distance
Learning Supplement form. For any class that you wish to offer as a
distance learning (DL) course, you will need to fill out and submit the DL
Supplement form, in addition to the new course or course change form.
The change to the new course and course change form is merely the addition
of a check box to let us know you are requesting DL status for a course.
Since this is the only change, we will still accept the 'old' forms with a
revision date of 3/99.
