Chantal Kalisa completed her Ph.D. in French Literature with a
concentration in Francophone and Gender Studies in 1999 at the University
of Iowa. In 2006, Prof. Kalisa co-founded the IGSC, the Interdisciplinary
Genocide Studies Center, based in Rwanda (www.igscrwanda.org). Prof.
Kalisa's forthcoming book, Violence in Francophone African and Caribbean
Women's Literature, is under contract with the University of Nebraska
Press.
