Hey kids,
We are in the final week of preparation for track nationals! Athletes
will start arriving next week! There are lots of little jobs that need
filling from now until the end of the event. I'm asking all of the
athletes to help out with the post-event chores. It will take a couple of
days getting the track ready. The first thing that will be done is
painting. The MVA is having a track painting, and clean-up party this
Thursday evening at 7:00pm.
Next Tuesday we will begin preparing the track for the event. Tents,
snow fencing, banners, tables, etc. etc have to be set up. Tuesday will
be used to consolidate all of the materials which will require the
assistance of 2-3 volunteers helping Paul and Emerson. Wednesday will be
the set up day. We'll start in the morning and should be finished around
2 or 3. We will need about 6 people for this, but the more people we can
get together the faster things will go.
Of course there are still lots of things that need to be done during the
event as well. The most urgent time slots are Thursday and Friday morning
and afternoon.
If you or anyone you know is interested in helping out then please
reply to this message. I really appreciate all the help people have given
me thus far. I think it will be an event we can all be proud of.
Sincerely,
Scott Chegwidden
