The latest meeting this past Friday, Aug. 1, addressed those two issues
and an interim solution for road racing in the Spokane area. Basically
it
was agreed by the DOT and WSP that racing may resume.
After explaining what it takes and how a road race is currently
conducted,
the DOT and WSP had a new vision of competitive cycling. The same
conduct
will the foundation for the guidelines. The review of the guideline
draft
was an internal one for the education of the parties currently involved.
A
more open and final draft is scheduled in two months.
Richard,
As a promoter who's race depends on the use of Washington roads I
would like to be involved in creating a final draft, rather than simply
reviewing one in two months. In order for me to give this input I would
need to see the internal draft now, rather than later.
I would hope that the WSBA would make the draft available to anyone
interested in giving some input for the open and final draft.
I was at the first meeting and will try to hit the August 19th
meeting. I would like to see this entire process be in the sunshine.
