This is for anyone who races mountain bikes.

I am looking to get a new mountain bike for competition but I am not sure
what I should get.  My main lack of knowledge lies in whether or not to
a full suspension bike or a good hard-tail.  Are hard-tails all-around
better for competition because they are lighter?  Does rear suspension
make any difference in competition or is it just something that is good
for recreation?  If any of you moutain bike racers out there could help me
out that would be great as I am eagerly awaiting when I can go out and
buy a nice new bike.
