Metric System!

Ok... We need to change something here! What's with listing ride distances
in metric units?
The metric system is DEAD! YES I repeat dead in the United States. My
cycle computer reports
my speed in miles. I ride miles not Km!

When Dan, tells me that he just kicked some serious ass in a 10K run, I
really have no concept of how far Dan ran.
I know Dan ran 10k, but unless he tells me his distance in miles it doesn't
mean anything.

Heres my thought to why American runners uses kilometers..
Kilometers are longer than miles, so if you say that you did a 5 kilometer
run, it psychologically
sounds farther than if you say you ran 3.~ miles. Basic its a method to
make you think you went farther then
you really did. Who really watches the units..

Our engineers and scientists even build crap using English units.
