the big question

You can also ride a bicycle with hairy legs. I've seen it done.
Somehow, the bike moves forward anyway.

The arguments I can think of for shaving are:
 * If you crash, the road burn isn't as bad. Hair likes to grip the
asphalt, so as you're sliding you rip off more skin if you're fuzzy.
 * After you crash, it's less painful to change bandages if you've
   shaved.
 * It's fashionable. All the guys do it. Plus shaved muscular legs
   ARE cuter than fuzzy ones.
 * Air resistance. Swimmers will shave their entire bodes before
races, too. Talk to someone who does fluid mechanics about whether
   it really makes a difference.
 * Weight. If you just spent $200 to shave half an ounce off your bike,
you might as well shave half an ounce off yourself.
 * The economy isn't doing so well. We should support BIC.

Do you guys have any others?

P.S. If you do shave, consider using a woman's razor. The main
difference (other than the pastel color) is the angle of the blade. Men's
razors are meant to be held almost perpendicularily to the face, whereas
women's razors are meant to be held almost parallel to the leg. So for
shaving legs, women's razors are more convenient.
