If anyone wants to burn off some of their Thanksgiving feast..this is a
great cause. I'll be in Bellingham, but would definitely go to this ride if
I could. I've been volunteering weekly for the University Food Bank for 18
months now, and have seen that Northwest Harvest is an amazing
organization. We feed over 2000 people per week alone from the U District
branch. NW Harvest provides us with staples like oats, canned vegetables,
pasta, beans, and canned fruit. Local grocery stores and food drives round
it out. We continue to get new customers every week as the economy
struggles. They even have a program to make home deliveries to elderly,
ill, and disabled customers who aren't able to get to the food bank.
