ASL Legislation Proposed in Virginia

     House Joint Resolution 228, "Recognizing American Sign
Language Coursework," has been introduced in the Virginia General
Assembly and referred to the Committee on Rules. This bill
requests public schools and public and private institutions of
higher education in Virginia to recognize American Sign Language
coursework for foreign language credit.
