SAFE of South Florida is inviting all persons concerned with IDEA to its 3rd
annual bilingual Inclusion Conference, May 4th and 5th, 1996.

All sessions will be accessible in both Spanish and English.
We especially invite parents and educators from Central and South America who
want to make changes in their own country. The nationally known speakers will
include:
Bob Williams ...National director of all Protection and Advocacy agencies. He
delivers a message that changes the world.
Sue Conners...Tourettes Syndrome advocate for inclusion in the regular
classroom
Jeff Strully..."One Family's March Towards Inclusion" responsible for
developing independent housing for 1000 disabled young people and the father
of a "special" daughter
Nancy Verderber...a great speaker with CP who was included in the school
system "by Accident"
Julie Becket...mother of Katie Becket of Medicare Waiver fame
Cecilia Pauley... young woman with Down Syndrome who giving a terrific
presentation about her personal experience with full inclusion in school and
in the community.
Barbara Burch...a former special ed teacher turned fighting attorney who will
show you how to write an IEP that works.

My 12 year old son met Bob Williams (and became close friends with his
companion dog) at the 1995 TASH convention (TASH is The Association for
people with Severe Handicaps) and listened very carefully to Mr. Williams
presentations, each time commenting, "Great Speech!" after the applause. Mr.
Williams uses an augmentative communication device
