First Annual Media Captioning Services
Technology Assessment Award

     Media Captioning Services (MCS) invites all interested
persons to submit comments addressing the Telecommunications Act
of 1996. Please address the following questions in submissions
not to exceed 800 words.

     1.   What new information-based technologies can best
          utilize closed captioning?

     2.   What applications of closed captioning do you consider
          important to improve your access to all sources of news
          and public information?

     The deadline for submission is June 30, 1996. First-place
submission will be awarded $500; second-place submission $250.
These prizes will be paid for with private, non-federal funds.
Successful participants will be notified by TTY or fax no later
than September 6, 1996.
