We got this announcement for assistance and are passing it on:
Seattle King County Block Grant is not able to pay interpreters for WSDBC
Board and Committee meetings, therefore we cannot have any paid
interpreters for our WSDBC Board/Committee meetings. We lost some
meetings because of lack of interpreter service.
I am looking for volunteers with skilled "relay" and/or "tactile" sign
language for our board and/or committee meetings. We will need
them April 11, April 20, and May 11 and in the near future.
Please call Leslie Peterson, president of WSDBC, @ 720-4912 TTY. We need
your help or WSDBC will lose its empowerment. Call with suggestions or
questions. Thank You.
Is this for public meetings? If so, is SKCBG the organization holding
the public meeting? If not, I would think the other entities who are
holding the public meetings would be required to provide the
interpreters, but perhaps I'm misunderstanding.
