Hard of Hearing in Medical Situations

Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH) has put together a packet of
information and video that provides training and guidance for health care
facilities in serving individuals with hearing loss.  Costs and ordering
information follow the outline of what the packet includes.

This training packet includes:

1 - guidebook	"People with Hearing Loss and Health Care Facilities"
		New guidebook for hospitals to comply with ADA.

1 - brochure	"The Patient with Hearing Loss"
10 - cards	"Tips for Communication" for both the hard of hearing
		person and the hearing person.

2 - posters	"Tips for Staff"
50 - stickers	1"x1" stickers with International Symbol for
		Communication Access for use on hospital records to
		inform/remind health care providers of communication issues.

5 - stickers	5" x 7" stickers with International Symbol for
		Communication Access (which in the video was placed outside
		the hospital room of the hard of hearing patient, as
		notification/reminder)

1 - video	"I Only Hear You When I See Your Face" for staff training

1 - brochure	About Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH)
1 - catalog	List of Materials available from SHHH


Costs and Ordering Information:

The complete packet costs $80 for non-SHHH members, $70 for members. Video
($40 for all), Guidebook ($30 non-members, $25 for members) can be ordered
separately.
