Hi All,
Juno is an advertiser-supported Windows-based free e-mail service
available in the United States. Unfortunately the software isn't
the most screen reader friendly because it uses symbols and icons
for all the features of the software. This requires that a
graphics dictionary be made to label these icons. I have made
such a dictionary which will work with outSPOKEN for Windows and
ASAW.
If you would like to obtain a copy of this dictionary point your
web browser to my home page at www.teleport.com/~kford/index.html
or to www.teleport.com/~kford/diction.htm to go directly to my
collection of graphics dictionaries.
For more information on Juno check www.juno.com and to download a
copy of the Juno software go to www.wideweb.com/juno. You must
use this latter address to get the software over the web because
Juno isn't distributing it that way yet. They do encourage
people to copy and share the software though and this is why
another organization is making it available.
If you don't have web access I will be happy to e-mail you a copy
of the graphics dictionary and or Juno. The files will be sent
as zipped files and are about 8K and 1.4 meg respectively.
If you are reading this message you most likely have access to
e-mail. However, I'd encourage you to share Juno with your
friends who might not have e-mail yet.
If you have nothing more than an e-mail address you can tap most
of the power of the net. An excellent resource for learning how
to do this is Accessing The Internet By E-Mail, Doctor Bob's
Guide to Offline Internet Access. You can find this posted to
several news groups such as news.answers or by sending an e-mail
address to the following addresses:
To: mail-server at rtfm.mit.edu (for US, Canada & South America)
Enter only this line in the BODY of the note:
send usenet/news.answers/internet-services/access-via-email
To: mailbase at mailbase.ac.uk (for Europe, Asia, etc.)
Enter only this line in the BODY of the note:
send lis-iis e-access-inet.txt
If these don't work drop me a note and I'll e-mail you a copy of
the guide.
