Kirk,
Several years ago such a class was offered specifically for blind women in
the Seattle area. I'm sure that the people at DSB know who to contact. Try
Kayko Mamicata (spelling?) at the Orientation Center. If you still need help
I can find people who attended the training and I know the name of the
instructor. I think the class was the brainchild of Pi Bateman. She
still carries a scar on her cheek from the time she single-handedly fought off
an attacker who tried to kill her with a knife. Mistakenly assuming that she
was a defenseless woman!

Hey everyone, I know this doesn't have anything to do with adaptive technology,
but I thought I'd ask anyway. A local service organization contacted me, and
would like to explore possibilities of funding seminars on self-defense for
people with vision impairments. They had heard of an existing program being
done in California. Any contact information any of you can give me to help
track down this existing program so I can get more information will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks. Kirk
