Position title: Instructor II
Hours: Full-time (30 hours/week), Monday - Friday
Salary: D.O.E.

Major Responsibilities
----------------------
Development and delivery of technical and math classes including:
beginning and advanced intro. to computers; vocational math; applied
business math/spreadsheets; intro to databases; and word processing.
These classes are taught to blind and visually impaired adults. Due to
the range of abilities among students, classes need to accommodate
flexible pacing and individualized study plans.
Instructional responsibilities also include grading, record keeping,
counseling students, documenting curricula, selecting and adapting texts.
Participate in student admission interviews, meeting with vocational
counselors and department meetings.
Qualifications
--------------
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills;
organizational skills, good judgment and efficiency; team player.
A minimum of 2 years in adult education, technical training, vocational
rehab services or rehab teaching.
Experience developing curriculum and lesson plans, teaching in group
settings and one-on-one, and ability to adapt teaching methods for special
needs.
Technical competence with computers and standard business application
software. Prior experience teaching computers (MS Word, Excel, Access),
and math.
Preference given to applicants with knowledge of adaptive technology,
knowledge of visual impairment, and experience with disadvantaged
learners.
