Here is the update on the clock that does the date and days of the week.
This clock is quite large, but is battery operated and light-weight. When my
mother no longer needs it, I will use it, myself.
The clock is large, plastic and rectangular. It gives the day of the week,
the month and the date in letters about 2 inches high. On the right hand
side, is a standard dial style clock, as opposed to digital. The hands are
large and easy to read.
I purchased this at the House of Clocks in Lynnwood, Wa. There were other
dial type clocks which also gave the day of the week, like a giant wrist
watch, with the day in an insert window on the right-hand side. These were
of various sizes, and quite legible for a person with normal eyesight.
However, the big one I purchased was excellent for a person with reduced
visual acuity. [personal information deleted]
I do think this clock with the large, clear letters for day-of-week, and
month can be a help in folks with short-term memory problems
