Really naive question: my husband would like to use a TTY, but we are sort
of balking about the cost through the state (I have a good job and he just
doesn't want to pay;I have no problem paying.) . I have a PC and a modem at
home, so I think it should be very possible to use the computer and modem as
if it were a TTY.

Alas, I called whoever the state folks are about this, and they didn't know
anything about it and had no way of sending out a trainer to help.

The modem is all set up but I have really basic questions like:

--do I have to have the computer on all the time?
--is there any way to store tty stuff in my regular phone voice mail or what
are my opions here?

If anyone can help, I would be glad to talk to you. Phone or direct eamil
would probably work better than news since I don't read regularly. Thanks
