Easter Seals Washington's Western Washington Computer Loan Program has
currently filled all current requests and is looking for referrals from the
community for eligible clients. The program supplies refurbished computer
equipment available for in-home placement to adults and children with
disabilities on a short or long-term basis. The goal of the Computer
Reutilization and Loan Program is to provide additional support toward
educational and vocational development as well as enhancement of personal
independence for persons with disabilities through the use of computers.
The Komputer Enthusiasts of Greater Seattle (KEGS), in collaboration with
Easter Seals donate their time and efforts into transforming pieces of
donated equipment into fully functionalmachines that will help Western
Washington applicants achieve their desired educational or vocational goals.
The typical machine supplied is a 486 class computer running Windows 3.1 or
Windows 95. The program relies on donations for all equipment, so we are
unable to supply "state of the art" computers. If you know of a person with
a disability who might benefit from this program please refer them to Bunny
at (206) 281-5700 (Seattle Area) or 800-214-8731 (Western Washington) for
more information.
