Subject: Parents Needed for Panel

Hello,

I am sending out brochures to families today for a conference here in
Spokane
called "Community 2000". This is a conference presented in Spokane every
year
and with a new format this year should be a very worthwhile event to attend.

The new format will consist of 3 challenge sessions with responses sessions
to follow. The 3 challenge sessions focus on three main topics:

Responsibility and the Law - with 3 panels of people including Law
Enforcement, People with disabilities and advocates, and agencies who
support
people with disabilities.

Responsibility and the Family - with 3 panels of people including people
with
disabilities, parents, and siblings.

Responsibility and the Systems - with 3 panels of people including
Government
agencies, special education, and agencies.

This is a two day conference at Cavenaughs Inn at the Park on October 21 and
22. David Pitonyak will facilitate the conference and if you have not heard
him before, this conference is a must for you.

What I need is up to 4 parents to agree to be on the parent panel on October
21. If you agree to this, you will not have to pay registration($40) for
this
day and lunch is also included. This is coming up quick so if you are
interested please contact me as soon as possible and I will fill you in a
little more. Look for the registration brochure in the mail in the next
couiple of days.

I think this will be an important opportunity for us to bring up our issues
and concerns and add input to the conversation. It would be nice to have a
good representation of different ages of kids from young to adult.

If you want to find out more about the conference in general, please visit
the Community 2000 web site at: www.community2k.com or contact Ron Kurtz at
(509) 789-2247 or Brian Nichols at (509) 477-2029.

Thanks a million!!!!

Lance
