Despite planning ahead, the winter holidays just naturally add pressure to
our everyday professional and personal lives. UWHR provides resources to help
you effectively deal with stress, pump up your mental flexibility, and
adjust your priorities-- both at work and at home.
Healthful Coping with Holiday Stress sponsored by Benefits & Work/Life
Join this lively, interactive session that will give you opportunities to
examine holiday stress from several perspectives and tips for developing realistic
anticipations and goals for this season of celebration. During the
discussion, you will be encouraged to take a look at your personal list of
holiday should dos and sort through your true priorities and values for
this holiday season.
Presenter: Sue Covey, LCSW and UW CARELINK Account Executive, has worked
with hundreds of employer groups over twenty years. She has conducted numerous
workshops and training programs related to managing stress, balancing work
and family and developing a positive attitude.

Stress is normal, but a successful approach to it can make a difference.
Participants in this course learn tips and techniques, and gain new tools
to deal effectively with difficult circumstances. Content addresses situations
that seem impossible, as well as time pressures, changes in life and work, and
everyday challenges. Develop a new outlook to change perspective at work and
beyond.

Q0310: Creative Problem Solving course by Professional & Organizational
Development (POD)
In todays work-place, solving problems creatively is a "must-have" skill.
This workshop helps participants find new solutions for old problems and
preempt future problems. Using participants actual on-the-job challenges, explore
both parts of creativity: developing a flexible mindset for problem solving,
and applying specific techniques to expand problem analysis. Participants
should bring specific work-related problems that need creative solutions.
